July Worship Schedule

Updated: 2 days ago

Below are sermons that cover a range of topics aimed at inspiring, educating, and uplifting our congregation. Explore the messages shared by our speakers to deepen your spiritual journey and connection within our community. We look forward to seeing you all on the following Sunday's!

July 6 Communion Sunday, Farewell Coffee Hour with Unity

Scriptures: Luke 9:51-62 (The Message)

Preacher: Dianne Star

Sermon Title: “Lightning or ???”

Jesus said announcing Gods kin-dom cannot wait. We have responded with postcards,

phone calls, posts on social media, and protests. On this Independence Day weekend,

what has changed? We can learn to be brave, to act, and to persevere.

July 13 5th Sunday after Pentecost, First Sunday for Genesis Church!

Scripture: Luke 10: 25-37 (Parable of the Good Samaritan)

Preacher: Rev. Kathy Itzin

Sermon Title: “Who is Jesus’ Samaritan?”

The dividing lines between allies/enemies, supporters/resisters seems to keep flipping.

Who is the Good Samaritan as far as Jesus is concerned?

July 20 6th Sunday after Pentecost

Scripture: Luke 10: 38-42 (Mary & Martha)

Preacher: Rev. Kathy Itzin

Sermon Title: “Only One Thing is Needed”

What is needed? Mary & Martha represent opposite ways of ‘doing’ and ‘being’ in the world. Active and receptive. Introvert and extrovert. Busy and quietly resting. How do we negotiate these times and qualities?

July 27 10:00! Church Picnic Sanborne Park (Bring a dish to share)! 10:00!

Join us for our annual church picnic and service will be held in Sanborne Park at 10:00 (so that we have lunch closer to lunch time). Bring a dish to share and a lawn chair if you’d like. Hamburgers, hotdogs and veggie options as well as drinks will be provided by hospitality. In case of rain, information will be posted on our website and Facebook page.
