Rev. Kathy Itzin

Kathy Itzin is an ordained minister in the United Church of Christ. She spent many years directing children’s formation programs in various Catholic Churches before choosing to return to seminary and pastor a congregation.

 

She and her wife raised four children and fostered several others with special needs. She has served on many Mn. Conference UCC and educational and justice-oriented boards. These have included: 

  • Minnesota Conference UCC Committee on Ministry

  • Outdoor Ministries

  • Association of Coordinators and Religious Educators

  • The Joint Religious Legislative Coalition’s Congregations Concerned for
    Children

  • Interfaith Children’s Advisory Network, and

  • several organizations promoting justice for GLBTQI families.

 

She loves creation, gardening, cooking, children, everyone else, and the United Church of Christ – specifically this one!

Rev. Laura Cannata

Justice minister

Pastor Laura Cannata is a Justice Minister. She specifically focuses on Mental Health and Disability Justice but is also versed in other areas of Justice. Duties include helping churches become Accessible to All and Mental Health aware. Also, pastoral care by phone. Favorite Bible verses are the story of Zacchaeus and Micah 6:8, "Do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with your God."

Dustin Moretz

Ministry Intern

Dustin Moretz is a seminary student and has studied Buddhism in India as part of a study abroad program. He also has a master's degree in conflict resolution from Trinity College Dublin. His first job after graduate school was at The Corrymeela Community in Northern Ireland, an ecumenical peace organization. Prior to joining Robbinsdale Parkway UCC, he was driven by Minnesota philanthropy work.
